We have a fun event planned out, it is going to be yet another great NETWAR event not to miss.

We'll have around 250 attendees at the event with all proceeds benefiting Disabled American Veterans and Child's Play.

If you have not gotten your tickets yet, we do still have some tickets/seats left in our newly expanded venue for this event.  If you have a large group and are unable to find consecutive seats, please open a support ticket.  We'll see what we can do to accommodate your group.

This email is loaded with information.  Please read it.

Event Details
LANFest NETWAR 28.0 will take place on Friday, February 20, 2015 starting at 7:00 pm.  The event will run for 27 hours straight, until 10:00 pm Saturday night.
Location: Nielsen Community Center in West Point, Nebraska.

Driving Directions
Directions to the venue can be found here.
https://lanfest.intel.com/events/netwar28/location

Schedule / Tournaments
The event schedule has been finalized.  Please review here:
https://lanfest.intel.com/events/netwar28/schedule

Validate Tickets & Seating
Review your registration on the web site and make sure everything is in order, and that you are currently seated in the correct seat. If there are any issues, let us know immediately.

Mumble Voice Server
Mumble is the official voice communication software for our events.  We will have a local Mumble server running at the event for gaming and team communication.  Please make sure you have the Mumble client installed and configured.
Download Mumble here

Check-In Procedure
All attendees must download the LANFest waiver from our site, fill it out, sign it, and bring it along with you to the event. You must fill out this waiver regardless of whether or not you have signed one for past events. You only need to print and bring page 1 (signature page).

Hand the waiver to our check-in staff when you arrive at the venue. No one will be allowed to attend the event without a signed waiver. Please make check-in easier for yourself and others by having this waiver ready for our staff.

If you are under the age of 18, you must have the waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Print and bring page one and two.
Grab the waiver here

Loading / Unloading Computer At The Event
Make certain you review the map on the Location & Hotel page.  Park in the parking lots around the venue during the entire event.  When you first arrive, come inside and get yourself checked in before unloading.  Once you are checked in, grab a cart, take it to your car, and load your computer and equipment onto the cart.  This will make it easy to bring it all inside.  When you are loading/unloading your computer you may park near the door in the circle driveway. However, we anticipate this driveway to be constantly full.  If it is full, do not use the circle drive and instead load and unload with your car in the south parking lot, using the provided moving carts. If you do use the circle driveway, please make it quick and get your car moved so that other attendees can utilize it.  Use the south doors to enter the building, they will be marked.

Food & Drink
A large selection of food and beverages (non-alcoholic) will be available for purchase from the kitchen for the entire event.  YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BRING FOOD OR DRINK INTO THE VENUE. I cannot stress this enough, this is not our rule. The venue staff will evict you from the premises for breaking this rule. You are welcome to leave and grab food and drink from somewhere else, just do not bring it back inside with you.

Please help support us by being a good patron for food and beverages being sold by the venue.  Those sales help reduce our rental expenses.  Since we are a non-profit, for charity organization this greatly impacts us and helps us with our funds for hosting amazing events.

What To Bring / Computer Prep
For information on what to bring to the event and how to prepare your computer before attending, please review this web page.
Be sure to have your computer in working and stable order, as well as virus and spyware free! Please update malware/virus programs before attending. Have all games you want to play installed and patched to the latest version, as well as tested before the event. If your machines DNS server or IP is set to a static IP, ensure that you enable DCHP so your machine can operate on our internal LAN.  Do you really want to spend your time at the event fixing your computer issues or installing/patching games?

Chairs
You are allowed to bring in your own chair to the event.  However, be aware that space will be tight.  If your chair is unusually large or blocks paths, we may ask you to use a venue provided chair instead.  Note: The venue's chairs are actually pretty comfortable, so bringing your own chair may not be necessary.

Sleeping Bags
Don't forget your sleeping bag if you are sleeping at the venue.  Please do not bring blow up mattresses.

LANFest NETWAR 28.0 - Awesome Update!

January 8, 2015

Ticket sales for our upcoming event LANFest NETWAR 28.0 have been doing well.  The staff is well underway in planning an amazing event for you and your friends/teammates to enjoy.  We do understand that this venue is a closer drive for some and a little farther of a drive for many others.  Take into consideration that the amount of time you'll spend driving is only a fraction of the time you'll be enjoying our event.

Sleeping at venue is back!
Not since The Digz have we been able to allow sleeping at the venue.  We are excited to announce that it is back!  There will be designated sleeping areas, please bring your sleeping bag and pillow.  If sleeping at the venue is not your cup of tea, we recommend getting a hotel room.  Please see the web site for further details.

Early Bird Tickets (Win big!)
We know there are a lot of people that are waiting to purchase their tickets.  We can't stress it enough that if you know you want to go that you please get your tickets now and not wait.  This tremendously helps us in our event planning, a storm of ticket purchases right before the event is devastating for planning.  To put things into perspective, early ticket sales determine how many tables and chairs we rent, how much power we need to plan for and distribute, and how much food and drinks we need to supply. Most importantly for you is that our early attendance numbers determine how many prizes we receive. Our sponsors evaluate our attendance weeks before the event and distribute prizes based on the number of attendees registered--if you don't sign up early, you're negatively impacting your chances at an awesome prize!  Please be aware, that you can get a ticket refund up to one week before the event (minus $2 admin fee) if you are unable to attend.

To encourage early bird ticket purchasing we are going to step up the game by raffling off two prizes.  If you purchase your event ticket before January 15th at 11:59pm (central) you will be entered into a raffle to win either an Intel 240GB 530 series SSD or an Intel Core i5-4430 Processor.  The two prizes will be drawn at the event and given to two lucky early bird ticket buyers.  If you have already purchased your ticket, you are already entered into the raffle and we thank you for being so awesome.

Tournaments
The following tournaments are guaranteed to take place at the event.  We'll be sending out a survey early next week to attendees that have purchased tickets to decide what other tournaments we should run.  Just another reason to get your tickets early.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive - 5 vs 5
Team Fortress 2 - 6 vs 6
League of Legends - 5 vs 5

Here is a partial list of games that will be popular at the event.

LANFest NETWAR 28.0 - Exciting News!

December 14, 2014

First off, I would like to thank everyone who attended our last event, NETWAR 27.0.  It was an amazing success and broke new records with almost 350 attendees present.  We are constantly asked when we will be moving our events to a larger venue.  I can tell you that we have searched high and low in Omaha, talking to just about every venue in this city.

We were unsuccessful in finding a venue in Omaha that is large enough and able to meet our unique needs while still being cost effective, so we expanded that search outside of Omaha.  I am pleased to announce we have found an amazing venue!

That venue is the Nielsen Community Center in West Point, Nebraska.  An easy 1 hour drive northwest of Omaha.  This venue is off the charts in meeting our needs and being the home of amazing LANFest NETWAR events.  It has enough room to easily fit 532 attendees in one room.  We are going to smash event size records and join the ranks of few events in the US that are of this size and caliber all while producing an incredible amount of money for charity.  Right here in Nebraska.

Please take a moment to watch this video about the new venue.

Another benefit of having the event in a small town is reduced costs.  One example would be a hotel room.  There are two hotels in the town, the Super 8 hotel room rate is $55 for a dual queen.  Crazy cheap!

Please join us at our next event in West Point and get as excited as we are.  It will be a historical event you won't want to miss.
