If the event is scheduled to last 36 hours, and each tourney participant may join multiple tournies, but if an overlap does occur, will be forced to forfeit a match of their choice. What happens if any of you are in an RTS tourney, and it's time to play a round of another tourney you're a part of? Which one would you choose?
Why ask this? It wouldn't be fair to others if the person holding up one tournament was playing out a round in another tourney.
An RTS tourney could be measured in hours! Even if it were only single-elim, the moment the parcipant list is greater than 8 people, you're looking at a a tourney that could possibly last a good portion of the day.
It's not a bad idea, but what makes CoD4, TF2 and CS:S ideal for tournaments is that the total time for each match can be measured in minutes not hours.
In 36 hours, it won't be a solid 36 hours of tournament time. The tournament admins will need some down time (you know, sleep? Eat? Etc?), which would probably be about 6 hours a night or 12 hours out of the total 36. So that makes, 4+10+10 (fri/sat/sun). This could possibly be broken up by several raffles, let's say 4 @ 45 minutes each. So that's another 3 hours less of tourney time = 4+8.5+8.5
An RTS tourney is do-able. But if you participated in it, you probably wouldn't be able to be in any other tournament that was going on at the same time.
